ABOUT THE EVENT

The first-ever virtual IGC National Conference will take place on Saturday April 17th 2021, from 9.00 am to 2.00 pm. We are very excited about this and plan to spoil you with inspirational international guest speakers coupled with a stellar line up of workshop presenters. There will be a workshop for everyone no matter what your work setting or what stage you have evolved to in your career journey. The theme of this year's conference is “Fostering Meaningful Connections and Community in Challenging Times".

CONFERENCE FEE

  • €30 per IGC Member
  • €20 for retired IGC members

The IGC will subvent the additional costs of €70/€30 for you to attend so you only need to pay the above rates.

  • A receipt will issue automatically when payment is made. Please keep receipt in a safe place as duplicates will not be issued.

For Delegates

The IGC National Conference takes place from 9.00am – 2.00 on Saturday 17th April, 2021 and is available on demand until midnight Sunday 16th May, 2021. Please note, it will not be possible to interact with exhibitors or delegates after the live event concludes at 2.00pm on Saturday 17th April, 2021. Workshop presenters will be available on the day to answer questions on the chat function during their session. It will not be possible to ask questions to workshop presenters after the conclusion of the relevant workshop sessions on the day.
The cost of the event is €100 for IGC Members, €50 for retired IGC members & €50 for student IGC members. The IGC will subvent €70 per IGC Member, so members pay €30 only, at time of booking. The IGC will subvent €30 per Retired and Student member so they pay €20 only, at time of booking.
The cost of the event for non-members is €200.

You do not have to do anything, this will be automatically administered by the IGC at the time of booking.
Due to Covid-19 the IGC is moving to card payment or electronic funds transfers (EFT). Please have your card details to hand when booking. (Visa, MasterCard, Visa Debit). When paying by EFT your name and membership number must be clearly stated as the reference: You can input this information by clicking on the amend icon provided on all online banking versions. It is vital that this information is visible, otherwise there may be a difficulty tracking your payment.
The IGC National Conference is a virtual online event, taking place on 17th April 2021 and on-demand up to the 16th May 2021.
  • In the unlikely event you have to cancel your booking, please notify the conference organiser in writing as soon as possible by email to IGCdelegate@gmail.com.
  • Bookings cancelled in writing before the 12th February 2021 will not incur a cancellation fee.
  • A cancellation fee of €15 will apply to all cancellations notified in writing to the Conference Organiser after the 12th February 2021 until the 1st March 2021. In the case of student or retired members a €10 cancellation fee applies.
  • Cancellations made after 1st March 2021 will not be eligible for a refund unless verified extenuating circumstances e.g. sick cert is provided for extended sick leave.
  • As all elements of the conference will be available online for 30 days no refund will be issued for delegates who have booked and do not attend without notice, unless verified extenuating circumstances e.g. sick cert is provided for extended sick leave.
Your certificate will be available for download after your attendance at conference. In order to qualify for your 4.5 CPD hours you must attend 2 workshops, both keynote sessions and a minimum of 5 exhibitor booths.
To download your digital cert there are a few simple steps:
  1. Open the website at www.igc.ie , and click the box in the top right corner which says 'Member Login'. Where prompted, enter your details.
  2. That box will now change to 'Hi (member)'. To edit your profile details click that box again and a dropdown menu appears with the option to 'edit details'. Click that.
  3. You will now be redirected to our member management system (salespulse) and prompted to re-enter your details. - Do so.
  4. When this connects, you are now in your personal membership portal which contains all your details. From here, you can access your CPD records, CPD certs, Conferences you've attended, and the new On-line Renewal system. Simply choose the tab across the top of the page that most relates to what you want to do.

You can re-watch all 15 workshops on demand for up to 30 days after the conference. There is dedicated time to visit exhibition stands, chat, engage in audio and video calls with exhibitors on the day. You can pre book 15 minute slots with exhibitors from 8am Conference morning.
There will also be an opportunity to network with colleagues in the Main Conference Chat.
No, you will only need access to an internet enabled desktop or laptop computer or a tablet, but it is not recommended for use on a mobile devices. Your device, however must have a working microphone, and speakers or headphones either built in or ones you can connect to your device. Otherwise, you will not be able to hear the presenters or engage in any audio or video chats with exhibitors.
Please use the log-in button located at the top of this page in order to access the event on the day. Your Username and Password will be sent to you on the week of March 22nd.To log in successfully, you will need to have your username and password to hand. We strongly recommend that delegates log in to the conference platform before April 12th to ensure they can successfully log in. When visiting exhibitor stands, you can navigate to their chatroom to ask questions directly to the booth representatives. It is recommended to pre-book sessions with the Exhibitor in order to ensure your questions are answered.

Q&A will be directed in the chat function of each workshop. There will be no Q&A during the Keynote Sessions.
The conference content will remain available for 30 days after the event, which will be until midnight 16 May.
Delegates will be able to access the conference platform in advance of the conference from the 8am 12th April to pre-book 15 minute chat slots with exhibitors. When booking the chat, you will need to navigate to the exhibitors booth and select chat timings from the banner under the booth.

For Exhibitors


Exhibitors will need to create their stand by choosing from the selection of available booth templates. They have the opportunity to brand their booth with visuals and include any documents or videos they would like to be made available to Guidance Counsellors. There is no limit to the amount of Documents or Videos to be uploaded. Detailed instructions and a video guidance will be provided after booking. A demo day will be hosted by Vfairs for all registered exhibitors in late March.
It is expected that members of your organisation is available on the day to answer any queries visitors to your booth may have. Queries will initially be in the form of text chats from delegates, but you as an exhibitor will have the facility to initiate an audio chat, or a video chat with the. Delegates may also pre-book chat slots with you, as an exhibitor you have the facility to determine the times for these. At times, there may be a high volume of traffic to your booth; we recommend that a member of your team acts as a moderator/assignor to queries that may come in.
Yes, exhibitors have the ability to initial private text chat, audio calls and video chats with delegates visiting their virtual booth. Delegates will not be able to initiate audio or video chats.
Yes, support will be available throughout the entire process, including set up, testing and live.
